How big is the export market in China?
According to data from the General Administration of Customs and World’s Top Exports, Chinese exports totaled US$3.77 trillion in 2025. This represents a significant increase from 2021 figures, driven largely by high-tech manufacturing and “New Three” products (EVs, lithium batteries, and solar cells).
Exports to the United States, Hong Kong, Japan, Vietnam, and South Korea remained the primary drivers of this volume, collectively accounting for approximately 35.1% of all Chinese exports.

- Vehicles – US$226.2 billion (6.0% of total exports)
- Plastics & Plastic Articles – US$147.0 billion (3.9% of total exports)
- Furniture, Lighting & Signs – US$131.9 billion (3.5% of total exports)
- Articles of Iron & Steel – US$105.5 billion (2.8% of total exports)
- Apparel (Knit or Crocheted) – US$90.5 billion (2.4% of total exports)
- Organic Chemicals – US$86.7 billion (2.3% of total exports)
- Toys, Games & Sports Equipment – US$86.7 billion (2.3% of total exports)
- Optical, Technical & Medical Apparatus – US$75.4 billion (2.0% of total exports)
