When it comes to shipping goods all over the world, you can count on a 5* service from the team at AGI Immingham. In fact, you could say you’ll be flying high when you place your booking with them. And that’s quite literally what happened when the team shipped a helicopter from the UK to the US!
Shipping a helicopter is a fairly unusual request! But that didn’t stop the team going the extra mile to ensure safe delivery to the customer.
The Journey
The helicopter was loaded into a container by crane, ready to be transported by road from Melksham to Southampton dock.
From there, the container was loaded ready for departure to the Port of Newark. That’s a sea voyage of over 3,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean!
Several weeks later, and the helicopter arrived safely in New York. And following a speedy import clearance, the final leg of the journey being completed by road.
From start to finish, the delivery took just over 3 weeks!
Evelina Lukasevic, the Account Manager for the export, commented: “This export certainly sticks in my mind, as it’s not everyday we get to export a helicopter! I’m so grateful the customer put their trust in the team at Immingham to get the job done, and we were delighted with the outcome.”
This particular export was a far cry from the Scandinavian imports and exports the team are famed for. But it goes to show, that when you work with the team at AGI Immingham, anything is possible!
