Following our recent communication regarding the strike action taking place along the US East Coast & Gulf Coast Ports, more details have now been made available, with the strike action now confirmed, with approx. 25,000 port workers now on strike.
In addition to the expected delays, Emergency Port Charges will also come into effect from 23rd October. The charges will vary depending on the size of container discharging, with charges of up to $3,000 per FFE.
Further details are likely to emerge over the coming days, and any significant changes will be communicated separately.
These changes will remain for the duration of the US East Coast & Gulf Coast Port strikes.
The last major port strike in the region was in the 1970’s.
